Is Your Hair Dry? I Know a Great Fix!

Hi, there!

Most of us have dry, dull, damaged and over-processed hair. We don’t know how to style, condition and deal with it. If this is your hair type, read my post and find out how to bring back shine and deliver strengthening.

Dry hair – causes

There are lots of causes of hair dryness, including genes, environment, improper haircare, lifestyle, diet, diseases. Besides, strands get extremely dry when the fatty layer is damaged. The layer is responsible for protecting the hair stem, sealing cuticles and locking water in. Result? Strands are dull, brittle and tangled, often frizzy and static. Sadly, we can’t do away with all of the causes. Let’s get down to the ones we will easily deal with.

Hair wash and care in one step

Wash your hair as little as possible not to disturb the protective lipid barrier. If your hair is oily, use a dry shampoo to keep hairdo fresh. If the scalp gets dry quickly, buy a hyaluronic acid-enriched moisturising shampoo to keep the right level of water inside hair and make it easier to detangle.

Rinsing hair with cool water

Hot water is bad both for your hair and scalp. High temp rinses natural substances out of hair so turn to tepid or slightly warm water. Cooler water closes cuticle scales, reduces sebum secretion and increases blood flow. Hair is silky smooth, shiny and easier to comb out.

Haircare after washing

Damp hair is extremely prone to damage so you can’t rub, scrub and brush it using harsh motions. Remember to apply a conditioner, mask or oil after every hair wash. The cosmetics will create a protective coat around hair. While styling, hair won’t be exposed to the heat whereas brushing and styling will be a child’s play.

What’s your haircare routine like?
