Greasy hair right after washing… AGAIN! What do I do wrong?

Hello Girls!

Just think for a while, how often it happens that your hair gets greasy although you’ve just washed it. If this situation occurs too frequently, it may get extremely frustrating, indeed. After all, a shampoo is supposed to cleanse the entire scalp, isn’t it? So why it doesn’t fulfil its task? Find out, what is done wrongly.

Shampoo that has to be replaced

The most probable reasons for your scalp getting greasy right after washing are: a mismatched shampoo, improper lather wash down or too much shampoo used for the procedure. How to wash hair properly? Remember to use a small amount of shampoo, mix it with water and then massage the cosmetic into the scalp and strands. You don’t have to wash hair ends; avoid this step especially when the ends are split (you may damage the hair even more). Basically, use a shampoo that matches your hair type and the one featuring neutral pH. Avoid SLS, alcohols and other substances which might contribute to hair dehydration (this also may encourage greasy scalp).

Silicones, conditioners and hair dyes

Use these products wisely, too. Silicones are said to create a thin layer around hair that counteracts dehydrated hair ends and protects against damaging factors deriving from the external environment. On the other hand, silicones are known for weighting hair down. And what about the conditioners? If you apply them directly to the scalp, they can lead to hair dehydration. Therefore, it is better when you put on a conditioner starting from the middle-lengths downwards and rinse it using lukewarm water. Do hair dyes damage scalp as well? It appears that yes, they do. The artificial substances such products include don’t only encourage intensified sebum production but also they can cause irritations.

How to wash hair in the right way?

Don’t use hot water since it encourages sebum production. Wash the head with lukewarm water because it closes both hair cuticles and skin pores. Moreover, you shouldn’t wash the hair more frequently than every other day. This frequency is completely ok to remove dandruff, dead epidermis and the residues of hairstyle cosmetics. Also, while washing your hair, be gentle to your scalp, do a delicate massage. In the same delicate manner remove the excess of water using a towel; neither jerk nor pull hair out.
