Since it is a relative innovation, it is difficult to find reliable information about DIY lash extensions online. Faced with this, I decided to test several products from established brands and create my own ranking. Perhaps it will help some of you to find the perfect cluster lashes for self-application for yourself. I have tested more than one lash extension kit for home use, so I can provide quite a comparison. In my ranking, I considered, among other things, how many clusters were included in each kit, the differences between products from popular brands, and which ones provided the easiest application.
An eyelash extension kit? It must provide quick application and produce the most natural results possible
In creating my ranking of lash kits, I was guided by my preferences, so you have to consider that my reviews are subjective. I was keen to find an eyelash extension kit that would allow me to enhance my natural lashes without giving that false impression at the same time. I like to wear makeup, but I always try to keep it subtle and look as natural as possible.
Fast application time is also a key issue for me. I wouldn’t want to spend more than a quarter of an hour or so applying the cluster lashes. For this reason, my ranking includes the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit, which, according to the manufacturer’s claims, is supposed to enable application in just 10 minutes. In addition to it, I tested products from popular brands, such as the Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit, the Falscara Starter Kit from the KISS brand, and the Lilac St. Intro Starter Kit.
Lash Extension Starter Kits. Ranking
There are 6 ready-to-use lash extension starter kits included in my ranking. When I searched for user reviews about them, they were rather positive. My impressions about most of them were also good, so the ranking includes several such kits that I can honestly recommend to you.
1. NANOLASH DIY EYELASH EXTENSIONS Starter Kit
The first place in my ranking goes to the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit. I am familiar with the brand, so I was looking forward to testing it.
The Nanolash starter kit includes:
- 36 cluster lashes,
- a bonder,
- a sealer,
- a remover,
- an applicator.
These cluster lashes come in as many as three lengths – 10, 12 and 14 mm. This is great news for any woman who, like me, likes the cat eye effect. Moreover, they come in as many as eight styles to choose from. For me, the only downside was that I couldn’t decide which ones were the nicest.
Applying the clusters from this set was completely hassle-free. I could easily grab them using the included applicator, and I was very pleased with the consistency of the provided adhesive. In total, it took me less than 10 minutes to apply the lashes. It was also a huge plus for me that they lasted 7 days on my eyes.
2. KISS Falscara Starter Kit
Immediately after testing the kit from Nanolash, I reached for the one from the Kiss range. Especially since that is a brand I am also familiar with. The Falscara Starter Kit contains only 10 cluster lashes. This way, I have already used up the entire pack for just one application. In this respect, Nanolash is definitely my favorite, as the clusters lashed for much longer.
The Kiss kit includes the following items:
- BOND,
- SEAL,
- an applicator.
As you may notice, there is no remover included. This, for me, is a big minus. However, as for the application itself and the quality of the lashes, I was satisfied. On the plus side, the cluster lashes are quite soft, which meant that I was able to apply them to my eyelashes completely seamlessly.
3. Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit
The Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit, like the one from Nanolash, includes not only the cluster lashes and the basic products, namely a bonder and a sealer, but also an applicator and a remover. So I was positively surprised from the very beginning. In addition, there are different styles of eyelashes to choose from at Glamnetic, which enables different lash looks.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t say that this is a premium product. I saw that other users also noticed this. The cluster lashes from this brand do not look very natural, which makes it difficult to create a really good makeup effect with them.
These eyelashes should last up to 5 days on the eyelids. I, however, took them off earlier because, due to their not very natural look, I didn’t feel comfortable. I must applaud the application, though, which was quite fast.
4. Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit
The Tatti Lashes brand has also released a kit for do-it-yourself eyelash extensions. This is the Invisi-Lash Kit. Some women may have a problem choosing the right kit, as there are different styles of lashes available here, plus a black or clear strip option. As you can guess, I was tempted to go with something relatively subtle. I chose the lash kit with Au Natural lashes on a black strip.
In addition, it contained:
- Invisi-Lash Bond,
- Seal Glue,
- a pink brush and an applicator.
Here again, as with the Falscara Starter Kit from KISS, I noticed that the kit lacked a remover. Unfortunately, upon deeper research, it turned out that only selected brands include this product in their starter kits.
Coming back to the cluster lashes, I found their application quite easy and pleasant. The fact that this starter kit was enough for 7 applications was also a big plus for me.
5. Lilac St Intro Starter Kit
The penultimate kit in the ranking is a product from the popular brand Lilac St. The Intro Starter Kit contains a total of 30 clusters in three sizes – 10, 12, and 14 mm, and also includes:
- Lilac Lash Glue in Clear,
- Crystal Coat,
- Lilac Lash Applicator.
The contents of the kit from Lilac St were very promising. There were enough clusters, and the included formulas were quite good in consistency. Another advantage of the kit is that the lashes are soft and are set on a thin strip, making it very inconspicuous. Another plus is that they stayed on my eyes for a whole 5 days. This is definitely one of the best options on the market. Unfortunately, the remover was not included in the kit once again.
6. Lashify Starter Kit
Among the lash extension kits from well-known and popular brands, I couldn’t miss the one from Lashify. This brand has a very good reputation, but it has to be noted that many of its products come at a very high price. To my dissatisfaction, this was also the case with the Lashify Starter Kit.
Nevertheless, I decided to test them. Was it worth it? The cluster lashes from Lashify are soft and look very nice both in the case and on the eyes. What’s more, they are very easy and quick to apply, so maybe it’s reasonable that this kit costs more than the previous ones. However, there are only 10 lash clusters in the case, which, despite the fact that they lasted 5 days on my eyelashes, I still believe that their price is exorbitant.
Which lash extension kit can I recommend? Ranking summary
It took me quite a long time to test the 6 eyelash kits, but thanks to this, I can now share some reliable information about the products you can find on the market.
After testing all the sets, I found that the kit that features the best value for money is the Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit. Both the lash clusters and the necessary products for applying them are of really great quality, and I will definitely reach for it more than once. The lashes from Lashify also worked great in my case, but their price was way too high for me. Remember, however, that my opinions about the sets is subjective. I leave choosing the right set for yourself to you.
